We are a for-profit company that believes in the principles of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).

We build open tools that empower users, developers, and businesses. Our mission is to create sustainable, accessible software without locking people in.

We reject closed ecosystems and vendor lock-in. We believe open source can be profitable and principled. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Feature Requests

Free software doesn't mean endless favours.

When it comes to feature requests, you’ve got a few options:

  • Open an issue — your idea will be considered if it’s relevant or aligns with the project’s direction.
  • Make a pull request — if it matters to you, build it and share it.
  • Pay for development — we offer commercial options if you want something delivered on your timeline.

We are not obligated to accept feature requests. We prioritise changes that serve the wider community, align with our roadmap, or are commercially funded.

Open source is collaborative — not a free service desk.

Support

The support you get is the support you pay for.

We maintain our projects and offer best-effort community support, but if your business depends on it, professional support is available.

We offer managed services, custom integrations, and service-level agreements (SLAs) for organisations that need reliability and accountability.

We also reserve the right to fire a customer or user.

If your involvement becomes disruptive — whether by dragging your feet, creating friction, or slowing down the project — we may withdraw support or end the relationship entirely.

We’re here to move things forward. If you're working against that, we’re under no obligation to continue working with you.

Licensing

We use a mix of licences to balance openness and sustainability:

  • MIT / LGPL / GPLv2 — for core components, libraries, and tools intended to be reused and remixed freely.
  • Functional Source Licence, Version 1.1 — for products where we offer a managed version, helping us fund development while keeping the code visible.

When possible, we reject predatory licensing models. We support licences that protect both user freedom and contributor effort.

Shared Responsibility

Using open source doesn't mean outsourcing responsibility.

You're free to:

  • Use the software however you like.
  • Change it to suit your needs.
  • Contribute fixes and improvements.
  • Run it yourself, or pay us to manage it for you.

We believe in collaboration, not obligation. We’re building tools that last — with people who value openness, trust, and long-term thinking.

We believe the best way to keep our open source projects thriving is to pair them with a sustainable commercial model. That means:

  • Charging for real value.
  • Keeping the code open.
  • Supporting our community and our customers.
